What is the pH of the digestive tract of a mammal?NOT the stomach, because I know that's 2.

But the digestive tract, where the esophagus is.

At this point in the Dig. tract we most only encounter saliva which is weakly acidic or weakly basic, probably around pH 5-8

About 6.8, it has to be almost neutral because unlike the stomach that has a mucous lining to protect from the acidity, the intestines don't have that.
