If the digestive system stops working, the food what you eat, will not be digested (broken down in simple units) and so, the nutrients will not be absorbed through blood stream and it will not reach to the cells. If cells of the body do not get nutrients, it will not be able to regulate the growth and metabolism to gain energy. The person will loose the energy as well as the weight.
Apart from it, the food inside the body (not digested) would produce toxins if inside for long time, which can make the blood toxic and generate many types of diseases.
Ultimately you will die if your digestive system stops working.
