What everyday system is similar to how your respiratory system works?I need help thinking of ways the respiratory works. So if someone can think of a system that works like your respiratory system does, that would be great :)
If you dont understand my question, think of this; muscles work the same way a rubber band does.

Think of a large balloon with a long neck (like the clown balloons) the neck represents the airways and the body of the ballon represents the diaphram and lungs.
Blowing up a balloon and letting the air out is the basic principle of respiration.
Imagine disease of the airways when the neck of a ballon is too hard to blow into.
A thick ballon will prevent the amount of air it can hold like a disease of the chestwall, that orevents your O2 intake.
A balloon that you find behind the couch three days after the party is all strecthy and gross. and is a disease of your lung muscles being too weak.
