It Begins from your teeth and ENDS in the rectum, briefly speaking.

Digestion actually starts in your mouth, with saliva to break down certain starches. The esophagus is what conveys food to your stomach once you swallow. The stomach breaks down food further, using digestive juices. From the stomach, food goes into the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine. It is here where bile from your gallbladder gets "squirted" into food to break down any fats. The second and third part of the small intestine are the jejunum and ilium. The small intestine is responsible for drawing most nutrients out of the food. The food enters the colon, or large intestine, where most of the water absorption takes place. And from there....well, it goes into the toilet! Hope this helps!
