Stomach pain?HI, over the past 2-3 months ive been having terrible stomach pain mostly when i eat and the only way to relieve the pain is for me to lie down for about 30-45 mins. I cant really explain the pain and i dont have any other strange symptoms only that my stomach hurts whenever i eat (it's as if i feel full sometimes after taking only a bite of a brownie even though i havnt ate all day) Currently i've done blood tests, unltrasounds and even a "urea breath test" to see if theres any bacteria in my stomach and all results have come back negative. My doctor has made an appointment with a specialist but i dont know how much longer i can take the pain. I'm 15 years old, very athletic and i dont have a history of any health problems (also i dont think stress is a factor in my situation) Do u have ANY idea what it could be...and what type of stomach disorders do people have(i want to research about them and see if my case is anything similar) Please help and thank you

Sounds like classic signs of gastritis. Check out this site. It's pretty comprehensive. If this sounds like you, inquire after proton pump inhibitors. They're the usual treatment. Nexium is a good one. It's been studied more than the others and has been demonstrated to be safe and tolerated better long-term. Furthermore, I hope you are awaiting a specialist appointment with a gastroenterologist. This is the doc you want to see regarding your symptoms.

I work with a woman who had the same symptoms and she found out she had a hernia. The doctor chose not to operate and decided to treat it with meds.

"...even though i havnt ate all day..." Here is one clue. If you don't eat all day, your stomach cannot accept as much food all at once. Eat at least 3 times a day. Better if you have 6 small meals spaced over the day. That way your stomach is not empty or stuffed at any time. If it gets empty, the stomach acid can cause pain (even up into your chest). Probably not GERD because laying down makes that worse. If you are very athletic you should be eating on a regular basis. And at 15, you do have stress. Just being a teen is stressful.
Other possibilities: food allergy/sensitivity (milk and wheat are major players in that: try avoiding them), eating too fast (take the time to chew the food), food that is greasy/oily/fatty can cause gall bladder problems, but the ultrasound would have shown that. Lay off the greasy burgers, pizza, fried foods. See if that helps. If you are female, does it get worse around your period? Endometriosis can cause abdominal pain. There are about 10,000 things that it could be. Stomach pain is one of the most reported "illnesses". Check your diet; the South Beach diet or the Diabetes diet are healthy choices. Also, check out the "Eat Right 4 Your Type" diet that is based on your blood type. (Google it). Good luck.

You have a very good answer from Galfrom. My advice: eat regularly although a little. Keep your stomach filled with something. I just want to add a thing, do a little research on stomach ulcers. You might encounter something similar.
