Should I go to the E.R.?for the past 3 weeks i have had black tarry stool on and off, have lost and gained large amounts of weight, woken up nauseas every morning, been looking very pale and feeling very weak, and have had a bruise like pain where my upper bowle is located. I went to the dr. and they are sending me to a G.I. specialist and sending me to get some tests done but thats not till friday! About two and a half hours ago i started to get sharp shooting pains in the same spot (near small bowle) that have been occuring like every minute or so. I talked to 2 friends (both have medical careers) and they think i should go to the emergency room. I would really like another opinion before i decide if i should go or just wait it out. As far as i know these Symptoms suggest bleeding in the digestive tract. I am only 17 and serious digestive problems do run in my family. so... now that i have filled you in on the situation... Should i go to the e.r.
Please let me know if you are or are not a proffesional in the medical field!
thank you.

I'm not a professional but I think you should go to the ER, especially since your family has a history (make sure you mention this when you go)!
EDIT: Tar-like poop means you are possibly bleeding internally! Please go today!

I am not in the medical field. I believe that if you are in a lot of pain that you should go. If you're having bloody stools and pain in your bowels, it's not something to sit around and think about. The ER can do all of the tests that the GI doc will schedule you for (which may take a while to get the appointments for), so in case there is something bad going on, why wait and make it worse? Go get yourself better! Good luck.
