The energy from the food goes into the blood (abbsorption) from the small intestines, part of the digestive system. I guess that is the relationship-....absorption.

I haven't studied this, but from my observation the blood warms the stomach making the digestive system run at a smooth pace. Like warm air moves quicker than cold. Digesting in a cold setting would slow the movement of food. In other words circulation helps the digestive process through warmth.

Well...that's a broad question...the digestive system and circulatory system are related due to the fact that the circulatory system absorbs nutrients from the digestive system. This is done pretty much by the lacteals and villi. Generally speaking the villi absorb the nutrients into the blood and the lacteals pretty much absorb fat into the lymph system, which is a part of the circulatory system, which can then be carried up the lymph system and released into the blood system. The hepatic portal vein carries the blood from the digestive organs to the liver where it is more or less filtered and the glycogen is made. They have the common feature of supplying organic molecules and other essential substances to the body. The digestive system takes it into the body and the circulatory system takes it to individual cells. Um, I guess that's a basic idea. Hope it helps you some. :)
