Question about digestive symptoms!?I am about 25 years old. or the past one week, I have had constipation, though its been getting better. My diet has been bad for a few months as I have been eating out a lot and fibre intake was low. I have been trying to improve this by eating a lot of fruits and also exercising regularly and this has been making me feel better too. Also, I have not had a good physical routine - no exercise and having a desk job was complicating this further. I visited a doctor last week and told him all about this. He said everything was perfectly fine.
He did a palpation test where he testes for fluid level ascites and also to see if there was any enlargement. The tests were all good. He said I had a firm stomach and I asked him what that meant. He said at my age the stomach muscles are firm and also, in a bad case, it might indicate fluid retention. He wrote in his examination report that the fluid wave test was indistinct, which i assume is a good sign. I have been able to use the loo regularly (like every morning), but i feel i still do not pass the right amount of stool. Also, I feel bloated at times. This morning, i thought there a reddish tinge to my stool. But otherwise, there is no loss of appetite, or fatigue or shortness of breath or loss/gain of weight. At times i do feel some heartburn, but normally after having spicy food or if i over eat. I kind of tried to do some research on the internet and it was throwing a lot of stuff at me and that kind of freaked me out.
Any recommendations or advise would be helpful.
Thx guys. That is helpful. I was going to start taking probiotics from today, like the bulgarian curd and see what happens. I have also been taking fibre one, once day, mixed with water and it has definitely helped me. Plus eating carrots and other vegetable with roughage has helped me too. Its just that when i do some research on the internet, i get scared. Its not that i feel sick or anything. Just that i think am turning into a hypocon... But thx a lot. That helps. I am trying to cut down on caffiene and just drink juices with low carbs and sodium content. Also, running two miles everyday. Just that when i search, so many things, including cancer come up that it is scary to read.

Go to Wal Mart or your drug store and purchase a Fleet enama. This will help relieve some of your problem. Start eating oatmeal every morning for breakfast. Eating too many fruits can give you indigestion (bananas get me). If you continue to see the reddish tinge in your stool and have not eaten tamatoes or something red in color I suggest you take a sample to your doctor and have it checked for blood - mainly if it is dark red. A bright red color would suggest hemmeroids. If you are not confident in what your md told you go get a second opinion.

Dude, welcome to the club. The bowels are the epitome of bodily aggravation. Constipation can be a thousand different things, thats why doctors shy away from a diagnosis and always say, 'It's normal.' The problem can range from IBS to systemic candidiasis to poor dieting. And heres the lousy kicker: theres no way to fricking know. My dads a pharmacist and this has been his suggestion to his customers for years (something he heard at a pharm convention)...take a teaspoon of Philips every night before you go to bed with a medium cup of water.
I hate the taste of philips so I told him, bump that. A way that I have found that works extremely well is to wake up at the ass crack of dawn and drink a half a pot of coffee. For some reason, the morning coupled with loads of caffeine causes my bowels to RELEASE.
Other than that, know that you are not alone with your problem. GNC might have some good digestive cleansing supplements, but they are kinda pricey. Trust me, I've tried it all.
Edit:
Seriously, you can't research any symptom w/o 'cancer' popping up as a diagnosis. I wouldn't sweat it b/c theres like a 1 in 1,000,000 chance you have a digestive cancer at you age. Any doctor will tell you that. Cancer appears only after decades of years of untreated symptoms.
The absolute worst thing it could be is a male yeast infection. This will be treated by your regimen.
How do you say constipation in Chinese?
Hungchow.
