It sounds like gal bladder problems. Both my parents had it. The gal bladder will release this sludge that upsets the stomach and causes dark stools. He needs to go to the doctor and get it checked out before he gets a stone. Good luck.

Everything you describe, I have read are symptoms of IBS.
But those symptoms also describe several other medical conditions. Stress can cause these problems too.
He might want to see a gastroenteroligist, who will likely put him through a few tests to rule out more serious disease.
Tests to expect might be a standard blood work panel.
Celiac disease, or other intestinal bacteria.
HIDA scan
Colonoscopy
Amongst others.
It would be wise to seek the advice of a Medical Professional.

The symptoms could be from any number of things. Like the above answerer suggested, it's best that see his physician very soon.

make sure that he gets to a gastroenterologist soon. IBS is the least of the worry. the last thing that you want to have to deal with is infusion therapy.
