My digestive system goes insane whenever I'm stressed? What's wrong with me?I admittedly have an anxiety disorder. I've noticed, however, that the more anxious and the more stressed I become, the more I become nauseous, the more I get heartburn, reflux... the symptoms really hurt, a lot. They range from the initial reflux to excessive salivation which gives me a huge headache and stomachache, to rumbling in my intestines... what could be responsible for all of this? Is it a symptom of my anxiety disorder, or is it something else to be concerned about? I did recently see a gastroenterologist -- he said I might be lactose intolerant. That doesn't make any sense to me, though, as I can drink milk, eat ice cream, etc perfectly fine.

anxiety often makes people feel sick. It is understandable that you get heartburn if you're an anxious person (ever heard of stress causing stomach ulcers?)
i don't think that your stomach problems are caused by anything other than your anxiety...

I'm betting on the IBS-which always gets worse with stress...apparently the digestive system has its own nervous system...look into it!
and try yoga for anxiety-it really works!
