Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common problem with the intestines. In people with IBS, the intestines squeeze too hard or not hard enough and cause food to move too quickly or too slowly through the intestines. IBS usually begins around age 20 and is more common in women.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome. . . I wouldn't say it's so much of a digestive disorder as much as it is a bowel disorder (after digestion), or even a mental block, but don't quote me. It can be caused by stress, trauma, and other psychological conditions. My brother was diagnosed with it in elementary school, because he would get nervous about his teacher who didn't like him. It went away when he was home, and when he moved to a different class.
