small intestine, stomach
mouth, small intestine
esophagus, large intestine
small intestine, large intestine
4. Blood is returned to the heart by _________. (Points : 1)

9. How does the cardiovascular system interact with the lungs? (Points : 1)
The lungs and the cardiovascular system have no relationship.
The lungs pass oxygen to the cardiovascular system and take carbon dioxide from it.
The lungs provide a way for carbon dioxide to enter the body for use in the cardiovascular system.
The lungs circulate oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the body.

1. Involuntary...we can't willingly make our heart beat without the use of equipment.
2. IBD
3. small, large
4. Veins
5. staying out of the sun
6 .I'm going with nerve cells. Food moves via peristalsis and muscle contractions are caused by nerve impulses.
7. I'm going with infections. Receding gums are mainly caused by bacterial infections (gingivitis and periodontitis)
8. Arteries
9. Pass oxygen and take away carbon dioxide.
10. chemical and mechanical (enzymes for chemical, mastication for mechanical)

1. Involuntary since it works on its own without need for brain function. In fact, I think a single heart cell can continue to beat without being attached to a nervous system and when touched to another heart cell, they will start to beat in unison
2. Most likely inflammatory bowel disease
3. These are the small and the large intestinal tracts
4. Veins
5. Staying out of the sun, which, if you did, would cause a vitamin D deficiency
6. Not sure because of the use of the word "triggers". I'm guessing epithelial cells, but it could be nerve cells.
7. Probably malabsorption, because it says "digestive" and not periodontal
8. Arteries
9. The second answer
10. Chemical and mechanical
