How can I solve my digestive problems? Some days i'm constipated and then the next few days I have diarrhea. My diet has not changed dramatically in any way and I don't know what else could be causing this roller coaster effect. Every night before i go to bed i have stomach (or really in the digestive tract area) pains. No nausea. How can I fix this problem and what is causing it?

I know exactly what your going through. The unusual symptoms you are describing is caused by an imbalance in the bacteria in your digestive system. There are a large assortment of billions of bacteria that live in our system, and they regulate everything going in and out. I experienced problems exactly like yours and solved them completely! Check out http://endomune.com/ Im not a salesperson or anything, just a regular guy. Its not all that pricey, about $ 25 for a months supply, and it contains all the beneficial bacteria needed to help regulate your system. I promise if you try the stuff out, you won't regret it!

You may have something seriously wrong with you. It's not normal for the body to change so drastically in the digestive track, but then I didn't have to tell you that!!
It's quite possible you have a bad yeast infection in the intestines. I've had that for several years. What happens is the yeast excretes toxins which affect the intestines, and causes diarhea. It then subsides and the gut gets back to normal.
The key is to find out if certain foods or drinks cause the runs in you. If it turns out to be sugary stuff or high carbohydrate (which means surgars), then that might be the problem.
What's more of an immediate worry is the stomach pains. When ever there is pain, the body is trying to tell you that something is very wrong. Might be best to see a doctor about this. YOu didn't say how old you are. Certain diseases can cause the body to do these things you are experiencing, so it would be best to let a doctor evaluate your condition.

You sound like you have what my daughter has. She has been diagnosis with IBS and acid reflux. Read up about the food which triggers IBS, my daughter can't drink fizzy drinks (cola etc) fresh quices or milk, eat spicy foods. My daughter takes an antacid (Gaviscone or Renny) with her breakfast and after an evening meal. She also if her stomach pains get too much (which is usually evening time) takes Omeprazole 10mgs. When the acid gets too much drink penlty of water, the dietician said think of it like a fire and to put this out water will do this. Stress also plays a part, try and get plenty of sleep and avoid stressful situations. I do hope this helps and go to see your doc, they will help you, I have seen how painfull this is. Good luck!

The other people who have answered before me have some good ideas. You could also have a condition called IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome. One of the most common symptoms is alternating constipation and diarrhea, and severe abdominal pain. I was diagnosed with IBS several years ago, and it can be controlled once you find what your "triggers" are. Regardless of what you've got, you likely need to see a doctor to get a proper diagnosis. In the meantime, peppermint tea (if you like tea) is wonderful for the digestive system. Some doctors even "prescribe" it for IBS symptoms that are severe. It's natural, so it wont hurt you or interact with any other medication. I hope you feel better soon!!
