Previously, fibromyalgia was known by other names such as fibrositis, chronic muscle pain syndrome, psychogenic rheumatism and tension myalgias.
While it can tend to run in families,the jury's still out on whether Fibromyalgia has a definite genetic link or not. Unfortunately there just isn't enough research to pointedly say that it is strictly genetic.
