Does the thyroid control the stomach/digestive system?Tonight in class, my heart started racing for no reason. I couldn't breathe and felt like I was going to pass out. I have stomach problems A LOT as well. I feel nauseated about 80% of the day. When I don't eat, I get palpitations (more than usual), an extreme anxious feeling, and a massive stomach ache. Like today, I haven't been able to eat because I when I do, I feel sick even when I am revenous. I have done extensive research, and am pretty sure I have a thyroid disorder (don't have insruance yet to get medicine... am currently looking for an herbal healing approach), but I am most curious about whether or not it affects the stomach.
Thank you.

The thyroid gland isn't directly related to the stomach. The thyroid controls the rate at which the body burns energy. The anxious feeling, stomach ache, and heart palpitations and racing heart sound like the typical signs of hypoglycemia, aka low blood sugar. Low blood sugar is typical with diabetics when they don't eat for a period of time. You should try to go to a doctor as soon as you can. The best thing you can do right now is to eat 3 meals a day with snacks in between. You should have a balanced amount of sugars in your body throughout the whole day. Good luck and good health to you.
