Does the lymphatic system defends the body against disease?

Yes! It helps transport helper T cells, killer T cells, and memory T cells from the Thymus. These cells are the key cells in your body's immune system. The lymphatic system works with the white blood cells in the circulatory system, to build up immunity and fight disease and infection!

Yes. It consists of the lymph nodes and the spleen, as well as a few other glands.

Actually, the lymphatic system sometimes is a trap for disease that results fatally. Bubonic Plague, the Black Death of Europe, killed because dead bubonic plague bacteria and white blood cells would collect in the lymph nodes, eventually leading to buboes which gave the disease its name.
