Can u help me with bio please and give ur personal answer please dont take it from wiki or watever?1. Explain one beneficial and one harmful effect of exposure to sunlight for humans
2.What is meant when it is said that someone has a fast metabolic rate?
3.Trace the pathway of a bite of hamburger through the digestive system.
4.The amount of salt in your diet varies considerably, and yet many processes of your body require that salt levels not vary too much. Which system helps your body maintain homeostasis of salt levels? How?
5.How do researchers identify the specific cause of an infectious disease? List the four steps.
5.How is the volume of the chest cavity increased during inhalation?

For somebody who's asking other people to do their homework you're awfully bossy about not using Wiki or "watever."

1. Sunlight can initiate melanoma, but it also produces vitramin D in the skin.
That's enough for now; nobody will do my work for me...

1) Sunlight
-benefit: stimulates production of Vitamin D
-adverse effect: can cause skin cancer (melanoma, basal cell, etc.) and prematurely age the skin (leathery, dry, wrinkled appearance)
2) Fast metabolic rate
-usually refers to a person's caloric expenditure, how many calories they burn in a certain time
-someone w/ a faster rate could eat more without gaining as much weight
-could also refer to various metabolic parameters: heart rate, respiratory rate, renal (kidney) filtration rate, etc.
3) oral (mouth), teeth, tongue, oropharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine (duodenum, jejunum, ileum), large intestine (rightt=ascending, middle=transverse, left=descending), rectum, anus
4) primarily the renal system (kidneys), although others are involved
endocrine, vascular, cardiac, GI
here's a source:http://www.mdconsult.com/das/book/body/206288564-2/0/1492/464.html
it's complicated but to simplify:
-ADH=anti-diuretic hormone=vasporessin: secreted by the pituitary gland. function: to preserve water when the body is dehydrated, it produces a more concentrated urine, more sodium is kept in the body
5) I think the question pertains to how an infectious disease is diagnosed?
After a sample is obtained (tissue, blood, sputum, urine, feces, etc.):
-microscopic analysis: looking at the organism under a microscope
-culture (growing the organism, then identifying it via microscopy, determining which antibiotics are effective)
-biochemical (immune assays, antibody-antigen analysis, etc. - it's complex)
-molecular: such as PCR (polymerase chain reaction)
6) diaphragm contracts, causing negative intrathoracic pressure -->intercostal muscles help-->
parietal pleura and viscera pleura stay closely together to form a pleural space-->air enters alveoli of lungs

Chinese Healing Illustrations, Part One (44)
Chinese Healing Illustrations, Part One (44) This video highlights the differences between East and West in healing methods and approaches for different categories of illness. Flu, fever, cough, congestion, and associated symptoms Chinese: The flu is a seasonal ailment common in winter and spring due to sudden weather change. It will pass in a few days. Resting and drinking plenty of water will do. To help reduce discomforts and quicken recovery, use herbs to expel the fever and phlegm, to moisten the throat and strengthen the lungs. Wear appropriate clothes and beware of contagion to reduce chances of catching a cold (See my videos on flu and cough). Western: Doctors also advise plenty of rest and water. Use pills to suppress body temperature, cough, phlegm, and nasal congestion. Antibiotics are commonly used, which may erode bodys own defense mechanism. As for prevention, flu shots are employed for everybody. Is this necessary? Joint Pains Chinese: Joint pains worsen when the weather changes. Rest enough to avoid over-exertion leading to more pains. Also avoid over-exposure to the elements of wind, humidity and cold with appropriate clothing. Use herbs to strengthen blood circulation for pain relief, and to strengthen joints, tendons and muscles (See my video on joint pains). Western: Use pills to kill pains, surgery to replace joints in severe cases. Little attention is paid to avoid over-exertion and over-exposure. Nasal Allergy Chinese: Members of the same family do ...
