yes. diabetic edema and neuropathy can both cause chronic diarrhea. many diabetic also report problems with certain foods, gas, stomach aches, and bloated feeling when their blood sugar is high.

Sure. Just like you can get nerve damage in your fingers and feet, you can also get nerve damage in your stomach. I went for the last 15 years of my 45 years of Type 1 diabetes with absolutely no appetite and with what you might call a slow digestive system, one of the possible symptoms of gastroparesis. And, if your blood sugars tend to run high, then you probably also tend to get more frequent infections, which can happen internally as well as on your skin.
