small intestine help get rid of waste, as well as the urinary bladder. peristalsis is a series of muscle contractions in the digestive system(such as esophogus pushing the food down into stomach)

c. They are part of the digestive system.
Peristalsis are muscle contractions that guide food through your body. The small intestine absorbs most of the nutrients in your body and sends them through the body. The bladder, while technically not part of the digestive system, is involved in processing ingested material.
Peristalsis is an action, so it can't be lined with smooth muscle.
None of these fight disease.
All cells create enzymes.

the answer is A if anything.
The urinary bladder is part of the urinary system and not the digestive system-obviously food does not come out in your urine.
the mentioned structures sure dont fight off diseases!
and no to the enzymes...
peristatlis is a movement in the esophagus and the stomach and doesnt have anything in common with the other two really.
so, A it is.
Smooth muscle means it is an involuntary thing-ie, you dont sit there and go, oh i might move my urine on down to my bladder now...
:)
