A question about genetic disorders?

A question about genetic disorders? Both sickle cell anemia and hemophilia:

a. are caused by genes coded for defective protein
b. are seen in homozygous dominant individuals
c. are diseases of the gastrointestinal system
d. none of the above

I chose 'a', but I'm just not 100% sure it's correct. 'c' definitely can't be and neither 'b' cause there wasn't any mention of hemophilia being present in homozygous individuals. But it might be 'a' or no correct answer. The wording in my book confused me a bit and I'm not sure if 'a' is the right answer just expressed very differently in the lesson.

a

b could be true if it was about homozygous RECESSIVES.

The answer is A

I would say "d," but only because "a" is written incorrectly. Genes are not coded by a defective protein; it's the other way around.

If I were writing this for my students and wanted "a" to be the correct answer, I would have stated it,
"are caused by proteins produced by defective genes."
