Pharmaceutical Companies make public more aware to what medicine, etc. ?What are some of the digestive diseases, disorders, surgeries, and diagnostic tests becoming more familiar to the general public because of pharmaceutical company advertising, public information campaigns, news media attention, or new screening guidelines?

Big Pharm has made people more aware of depression in order to sell more antidepressants. They're hideously corrupt and greedy, but one positive off-shoot of their efforts to make a lot of money is de-stigmatizing mental illness. Bonniva (sp?) has Sally Field shilling for them in frequent commercials that are unintentionally very funny. I would guess they've made some more aware of osteoporosis.
