Is the best of America serving the worst? The untold story about weapons uranium exposure has commanders like Doug Rokke complaining:
"My guys were sick and dying and I couldn't get medical care. They denied me medical care. I was sold down the river with the rest of my guys."
They were exposed to the ultra-fine dust of exploded depleted-uranium munitions. Today, his entire crew is either sick or dead.
1/3 of 205,000 GIs have sought medical care for uranium exposure symptoms: malignant tumors (1,584), endocrinal and metabolic diseases (36,409), nervous system diseases (61,524), digestive system diseases (63,002), musculoskeletal diseases (87,590), and mental disorders (73,157), etc.
Iraqi citizens are sick too, but receive no care.

What will the Bush Administration do for these heroes?
The staggeringly backlogged Veterans Administration, which takes on average six months to process a claim and two years to process an appeal, cannot begin to cope with this onslaught of need and misery

The answer is 'Yes'. 'They' made promises 'they' could never keep, we were simply too young and dumb to know it. When I joined up, I was told that I would be taken care of medically for life though the VA. That's right, "FOR LIFE"! Later, 'they' renegotiated the contract without our permission to read 'service related injuries', and then defacto nullified our rights to medical care by destroying our medical records. Oh yes, we've held up our end of the $ #!^^* stick and 'they' did not!
