Good treats for liver sensitive dog?My dog has a liver disorder; its somewhat like a shunt, only its a series of smaller blood vessels that surround his liver. Basically, it causes some of his blood to not be filtered through his liver. It doesn't cause all of his blood to bypass the liver, but it is inoperable, and must be dealt with by diet and medication. He eats Hill Science Prescription Diet LD to help with this, and thankfully, the vet has said that he shouldn't need any medication as long as we're careful. He's a one year old Cairn Terrier. Does anyone have any suggestions for good, healthy treats for him that won't cause him any further liver damage? Thanks!

What we always recommend is taking some of your prescription food, cutting it into thin pieces, and baking it until hard. Then it has a crunchy texture and tastes different, but is still healthy for him. You can also try Quaker Ricecakes, they are very low fat (fairly easy on the liver). Good luck!
