Does a healthy digestive system lead to a faster metabolism?there are loads of adverts about 'good bacteria' helping digestion, and they focus on feeling better, but does it have any influence on your metabolic rate?

I guess you could look at it like if you have a bad fuel pump on your car, it doesn't run as good.
To improve your metabolism, eat small meats a few times a day instead of three big meals, decrease carbs and sugars, and exercise. You improve your metabolism by letting your body work with smaller amount of food. Your body uses the "fuel" more efficiently. Eat plenty of fiber, fresh fruits and drink plenty of water.
I am always appalled at the ads on tv for things to help your digestion...just more products from the jumbo corporations to make money. The same result can be had from proper eating. Your body is very well equiped to take care of itself, given the right tools (food) to work with.
