Does cooking destroy minerals in food?I have a severe gastrointestinal disorder, and to help heal my gut, my doctor recommended boiling a soup of meat and vegetables for FIVE HOURS (i.e. a full rolling boil at 212 degrees farenheit for a full 5 hours). He said this would destroy an allergens that were irritating my GI tract.
I know certain vitamins are destroyed with heat, but are minerals destroyed with this type of cooking?
