I know that their guts can fall out. That happened to one that my friend had.. they just fell out. Call a vet's office or go to the Library.

A veterinarian who specializes in small animals and rodents could answer this question best.

I happen to have a hamster, well hears a few things:
Hamsters can only eat fruits, grains, and some nuts(no candy, chocolate, cream, frosting,or spicy stuff)
Um...well a hamster stores food in its pouch and thats all i know..

get the book Hamsterlopaedia: A Complete Guide to Hamster Care from your library or bookstore. has just what u need.

this site has some stuff, but the book is best.
ps: they eat a pellet like their poop that contains nutrients, but it's not actually poop.

they eat their own poop as a secondary digestive thing.
