You are talking about Metabolism. If you have a slower metabolic rate, then yes, you may gain weight easier. The best way to combat this is to split your meals up more often during the day. This will enable your body to process the meals more quickly. Basically split your portions in half and separate them by an hour or two. You should eat as soon as you wake up. Something healthy. Your body hasn't eaten anything in 6-8 hours! Eat something small and healthy and do a quick exercise, shower and get ready and then eat again before you leave for work. Go to work and eat your first lunch (should be a fruit or vegetable with something like yogurt or cottage cheese). Then have your second lunch after an hour or 2 (230-330). Get home from work and have something ready to stick in the microwave or cook up, like vegetables or more fruit. Eat that, go for a walk, and then come home and have a small normal dinner (protein, starch, low fat). You will change your metabolism and loose weight without changing the amount of calories you are consuming in a day.
