Can antibiotics cause digestive disorders?I used to take a lot of antibiotics as a kid/teen. 3 years ago, I started to develop chronic digestive problems (like diarrhea). I just wonder, could antibiotics eventually cause a digestive disorder?
It has majorly effected my life. A mix of fear and having these digestive problems has made me homebound a lot of the time. I went to a few doctors, they have no idea what could be wrong, unless they do a test such as a colonoscopy, and I do not think I can handle doing something like that.

It can cause problems down the road because a lot of the anitbiotics are very harsh on the disgestive system. It can wear things down and if your body is unable to build back up what was worn out then it would cause problems in the future. Best thing to recommend that if the digestive issues are getting bad to the point of interupting your day to day life then get to a doctor to make sure there is nothing else wrong.

Yes!
I use to have GERD and diverticulosis but not since I permanently changed my diet.
I recommend the book Eat To Live by Joel Fuhrman, MD
